As you may know, my hubs is a serious Nerd.
Ever since he heard that Google is going to cancel it’s Google Reader product he’s been quietly mourning and shaking his head in disbelief.ย
Minus the “big people” words, this video tells the story pretty well. It’s hilarious, at least. ๐

There’s still hope.
Hubs discovered this rapidly escalating Petition to Keep Google Reader running. I have nothing to do with the project, but it doesn’t cost anything and looks pretty legit.ย
If you love Nerds or if you are one yourself, please consider signing this petition. I use Newsfire for Mac, but am still signing as my way of standing up with the countless many who wander aimlessly today over this announcement. ๐
Do you use an RSS reader? Did you even know that it stands for Really Simple Syndication? Please scroll down to the comments below and share how you feel about Google’s decision to can Google Reader!

No, there is no hope. Really. But you can always divert to The Old Reader or Feedly. Give up on this. Google doesn’t listen to anyone.
Aww! You really don’t think Google will listen to a huge petition like this? I hope they will.
What did you think about the vid? lol

I was actually going to blog about this myself I’m so bummed about it. Who knew Google could be so insensitive? Ha. Anyway, I converted to Feedly but I haven’t had time to play with it yet. I heard they have added servers and are going to be making improvements to the interface now that Google has thrown this wonderful opportunity right in their laps. My biggest concern is that I’ll lose the 5-6 RSS blog subscribers I have unless I can navigate the muddy waters of some alternative. MaAnna is pushing RSS-to-Email but not everybody (like me) wants that option for every blog. So I’m kinda chasing my tail at this point – not sure what to do.
I don’t know what to tell you, though you are certainly on top of it! ๐ Did you hear that Digg is coming up with an alternative? Could be very nice for them – and us!
Will they listen? “Still Hope for Google Reader Today” http://t.co/ZafRwx3C5z
