Hi!
Do you blog? In my endless (it seems) exploration for the best way to get blog posts over to Facebook, I’ve discovered a few things:
- Networked blogs is probably going to post the same picture time after time, but it’s probably the most efficient option
- WordPress is delightfully diverse, in terms of plug-ins, but they can be twitchy
- Facebook Notes are fun to customize, but it needs to be done by hand and takes more time.
As for me, I’m hanging up my FB Notes customizing hat, stopping the endless wrangling with different WordPress plugins for this purpose, and am settling for Networked Blogs to automagically post my info on Facebook.
If you’re a blogger, which works best for you? Why?

Great post! It’s better to keep traffic coming to your own site, rather than give it up to Facebook.
Thanks Chris!! You’re very right. π
Chris has a good point. It’s just one click away from FB to get to the site and to notice all the other goodies there. Most of my friends are not that familiar with Notes anyway. I like to use Networked Blogs as an insurance policy to make sure the link appears on FB, then I schedule or manually post another “teaser” and link (or two) over the course of a few days around the time the blog is published.
Love your strategy involving posting another teaser/notification, Claire! Seriously, what are the odds that all of your friends will see your post on their wall at one particular point in time? This is SMART. (Not that I expect anything less from brilliance coming from your direction.) π
I agree. I like NetworkedBlogs too. Denise Wakeman was experiencing some problems with scheduled posts. In a comment seomone from FeedBlitz replied and they have a great solution. http://kb.feedblitz.com/article/AA-00576/26/Facebook-Integration/Automatic-Facebook-posts-done-right.html
Thanks for the great link, Erno! After meddling with this for months (on and off) I’ve settled on something that’s actually working. For now. With fresh pictures every time. I’m almost beside myself with relief!! π
