    Is Pinterest for Me?

    I’m surprised by how few people tell me they’re using Pinterest to promote their passion. Some points to ponder if most of your clients are women:

    • A whopping 80% of users on Pinterest are Women.
    • 20% of all American women online are already using Pinterest.
    • 18% of Pinterest users live in households earning over $75,000 annually.

    Save time and energy by considering these important questions before you add Pinterest to your online marketing strategy:

    • Is your passion something that can be expressed by a picture? If you’re an author, for example, you can use pictures that support your setting, characters, themes, etc., but it has to feel natural.
    • Do you enjoy a fast moving, magazine-like setting? If so, Pinterest is the perfect fit for you!
    • Are you a woman, and are most of your clients/customers women?

    If you answered YES to these questions, it might be time to open a Pinterest account!

    A while back Dr. Margaret Herrman, better known as Peggy Herrman had an attractive, but outdated website for The Herrman Group. She asked me to create a fresh approach for this established and award winning Conflict Resolution Consultancy that would preserve it’s well respected academic integrity while making it more accessible for “regular people” who need relief from conflict, whether it’s in the workplace, neighborhood, or church.

    She was ready to take on more clients and needed to learn about how to work with social media in order to sensitively build the trust that it takes for people to give her permission to tell them more about what she does, so I created the “Doc Peg is IN” approach for her because it feels like a radio talk show host where you call in with your problems and get help from the relationship Doctor. Peggy generously answers questions and can frequently be found contributing to professional groups on LinkedIn.

    She also has a thriving Facebook Page community, Twitter presence, and engaged audience on the site I created for her.

    Especially with Pages Gone Wild going on right now through to the 29th, people have already gotten over 100 likes just for being there, meeting cool new people, and liking their Pages.

    If you don’t have a frame of reference to appreciate that, some of my social media buddies have told me that their clients suffered to get one new like a week on their pages before paying for professional help.
