Every month I’d send them some excruciatingly cute card with glittery sprinkles in it, maybe even a delicate fragrance, and a 20% coupon JUST FOR THEM.  I gave them the love and they gave it back! This was the secret, and it works for online businesses too, only you have to be imaginative enough to think of ways to translate the love into an online medium. It didn’t take long at all before I was out of the red and into the black.  Using this method to advertise and build my business I took it to over a quarter of a million dollars a year in sales within the first 3 years, and this was during an economic downturn.

It’s the trick that most people miss, because they want to treat social media like a private TV station (mass communication) instead of something more personal, more like a dialogue.
