Any emerging media like Google+ is a playground for early adopters.

We come in, check out all the features, and like kids we run towards the jungle gyms, slides, and swings. We reach for the sky with our feet as we careen back and forth on the swings, feeling the sun on our face and the wind in our hair. It just feels so right.

And then there are those who might try to tell us HOW we’re supposed to play. They want to organize our activities into organized games. Sometimes they’re a riot of fun. Sometimes they get draggy and it’s more fun to separate to do something else. If it feels good, do it. If it doesn’t don’t.

Social Media isn’t a chore. It’s a playground.

If somebody’s telling you it MUST be done one way or another and you stop having fun with it…Stop, Reassess, and Immediately head to your favorite playground.

Not only is this way more fun, but it will be way more effective. Just as in face to face communication, it shows when somebody’s not into the conversation and would rather be doing something else. You can just feel it. Never underestimate the ability of people to smell out a fake. That’s why it’s so important to be real, be you, and have a grand time while you’re at it!

Google+ Rules? There are none.

Want more shares of your content? Same as everywhere else online: Share videos, pictures, and links of stuff that informs and has emotional appeal.

Now go out there and enjoy yourself, or don’t go out there and enjoy yourself doing something else.

What’s your favorite social media network?
